Say hi to the newest face at Chalkbeat Colorado

Students in Colorado are counting down the days until the end of the school year, but here at Chalkbeat we’re marking the beginning of summer by welcoming our new intern. Please say hello to Monique Collins, who started today and whose work you’ll soon be getting to know.

Monique is a native of Milwaukee, Wis., and is a senior at Marquette University studying journalism and peace studies. Before coming to Chalkbeat Colorado, she was an editorial intern at Milwaukee Magazine, following an internship at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, where she worked the education beat. She’s most interested in education and urban affairs — most of her reporting experience has focused on education and community news.

We’re very excited to have Monique help us dive into some reporting projects we’re planning for the next few months and to see where her curiosity and smarts lead.

You can say hi and follow her work with us (and send her story tips!) over the course of the summer on Twitter: @moniquekcollins

The COVID-19 outbreak is changing our daily reality

Chalkbeat is a nonprofit newsroom dedicated to providing the information families and educators need, but this kind of work isn't possible without your help.
